Apprenticeship Program

Become a Registered Apprentice

Construction is booming — and that means more jobs will need to be filled in the industry. That’s why now is a great time to start a rewarding career in BC’s construction trades.

The Independent Contractors and Business Association (ICBA) runs an apprenticeship program to help men and women who want to gain valuable industry experience. And, it isn’t all classroom work. Apprenticeships are 80 percent hands-on paid training and 20 percent classroom education.

We help by being the bridge between you, the employer and the Industry Training Authority (ITA). ICBA manages the apprenticeship process by taking care of the paperwork, recording progress with the ITA, and overseeing technical training. This allows you to focus on your training! We even provide assistance with bursaries, apprenticeship grants and other programs.

You don’t need to have a job to be an apprentice; as the single largest sponsor of construction apprentices in BC, we can help you find a spot with one of our thousands of member companies.
